Notes for Milton Fletcher Wright
The Coweta County, Georgia 1870 U. S. Census shows "Milton Fletcher Wright, farmer, age 49, b. S. C. and wife Mary A. 38, b. Georgia. Children (all born in Georgia), Nancy 20, Martha 16, Robert H. 13, Wm. A 11, Elizabeth 8, and baby boy."
In the Blount County, Alabama Census 1880, Milton Fletcher Wright was listed with his family. He was 59, born in Virginia (other records indicate his birth state to be South Carolina). Mary, his wife, was 48, born in South Carolina. Children at home were Elizabeth, born in South Carolina, was 18. Early, born in South Carolina, was 10. In the same household was his son William E., 21, born in South Carolina, but was married to Mary J., 22, who was born in Georgia. Son, Robert Wright was in a separate household, 24, born in South Carolina, had wife Viola, 18, born in North Carolina. Also, in another household was James M. Burns, age 33, born in Alabama, wife Martha Jane Wright, age 26. They had two children here, William M., age 2, and Mary E., age 1. Another household Sylvester Nunnally age 33, born in Georgia, wife of Nancy S., 31 born in Georgia.
Thus it would appear that Milton Fletcher Wright and his children were in Alabama probably in the late 1870s, but most of his brothers and sisters and their families had stayed in Georgia or traveled to other counties in Alabama.

Tis Awful
Sinners perhaps this news with you

The carnal pleasures of this Earth
Break off the thoughts and fear of death hours,

The aged sinner will not turn
His hearts so hard he cannot mourn

See blooming youth all in their prime
And counting on their length of time
They oft times say tis their intent
When they get old they will repent.
But of the sad the awful state
Of those who come but come too late
The foolish virgins did begin
To knock but could not enter in.
When Christ the Lord shall come to reign
In solemn pomp and burning flame
See Gabriel go proclaim the sound
Awake ye nations under ground.
Oh how will parents trimble there
Whoever raised their children without prayer
Me thinks I hear some children say
I never heard my parents pray.

This Samuel Leak was also named in the will of William Wright (Milton Fletcher's father) as one of the Executors of his estate.
His cemetery marker reads "Milton F. Wright Born Feb 9, 1821 died Oct 4, 1902. A precious one has gone. The voice we loved is stilled."
