Notes for Andrew Jackson Hickman
During the 1850 Census he was living on a farm in Sumter County, Georgia and working as an Overseer, close to Joseph M. Hickman's farm. According to the 1860 Census, he lived for a while near Aaron's brother Copeland C. Hickman in Talladega Alabama, working as a wagon maker. He entered the Civil War in Georgia as a Private on the 23rd of December, 1863, was wounded at Bentonville, North Carolina on March 21st, 1865, and was parolled at Augusta, Georgia on the 27th of May, 1865. He lived in Polk County, Georgia after the war.
