Notes for Nellie Josephine Logan

According to Etta Haney Roman, notes in Nellie Josephine Logan's handwriting:

"Aunt Lallie's Sogrum Custard: 6 eggs, 1 c. butter, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. buttermilk, 1 t. salt, flavor with ginger or lemon.
Chili Sause: dates back to 19th century; 18 ripe tomatoes, 1 large onion, 1 c. brown sugar, 3 green sweet peppers, 2 1/2 c. vinegar, 2 t. salt, 1 t. each cinnamon-allspice, cloves, and nutmeg. Combine and cook until tick, put in bottles and seal when cold."

On reverse: "Married 1863 on crutches. Wounded Battle of Chicmanga, GA-Civil War. Ma's daddy." (See James Asbury Bailey).
