Notes for Mary Jane Newton
Obituary:
Miss Mollie Newton. On June 8th, Death paid the second visit within three weeks to the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Newton, taking the eldest daughter, Miss. Mollie Newton. Miss. Newton was born in the Central community and spent her entire life here. She was born December 18, 1859, and a firm believer in the Baptist faith. She joined Spring Hill Church in early life and continued actively until her health failed to the point of rendering her unable to attend her church. While in failing health over a period of years her death came as a definite shock to her many friends. Survivors inclue: Luther Newton, of Pensacola, Fla., Sidney and George W. Newton and Mrs. John W. Franklin, all of Central community. Interment in Mt. Carmel cemetery on June 9th at four o'clock with Rev. Ralph Mullins and Rev. M. L. Heaton officiating. Pallbearers were six of her nephews: Arthur, Garland, Cuple, Henry E., Norman and Houston Newton. Dunklin-Johnson in charge.
