Notes for Samuel Emmett Drewry
According to family legend, Samuel died in a railroad accident at the age of 12, decapitated when he stuck his head out a window of a moving train.
However, another version is related by William Terry Stacy as told him by his grandmother Clio Drewry Cameron. Clio, her mother, and brother Sammie were on the train. The boy did not want to sit with his mother and sister and moved further up in the train to sit. He stuck his head out the window and was struck by a piece of a water tower. He was not killed instantly, but lingered for several days before he died.
