Notes for Robert Glasgow
During the 1832 Georgia Land Lottery Robert was awarded a lot in what then was Cherokee County, in the northern part of the state. The history of Pickens County tells of the old Glasgow home and store in Jasper. Robert later moved his family to Floyd County, Georgia, locating nine miles northeast of the city of Rome, and near the village of Plainville, in Gordon County.
The exact date and place of Robert's death is not known. It is thought he died about the time of the Civil War and is buried in Old Gil Gal, or Anthony, Cemetery, near Plainville, Georgia.
