Notes for Abraham Hickman
His father's will reveals that he died before 1835. Furthermore, John Hickman specifically excluded Abraham's wife Zillaann and son Aaron Lafayette Hickman from his bequests. According to Mary Hickman Cowart (from the line of Copeland C. Hickman), John didn't approve of Abraham's choice for a wife. However, Abraham or his family may have already received his part from his father's will when he married or died. For whatever reason, John Hickman's will says that, after his wife's death, his estate should be "equally divided among all my children with the exception of Zillaann Hickman and Aaron Lafayette Hickman, her male child the widow & male child of my son Abraham Hickman died, my wish is that they have the sum of one dollar and no more."
