Notes for Johannes Heller

Johannes Heller, as a single man, arrived 15 Jan 1750 in Charleston on the ship "Greenwich", Captain Edward Randolph. On 8 Nov 1751, he received a land grant of 50 acres on Heller's Creek. He married 26 September 1752, Esther Ott, born 1723, daughter of Melchior Ott and Gretchen Schmitts. Johannes Heller received an additional 300 acre grant in 1768 and he died circa 1789. The 300 acres tract was adjacent the original 50 acre bounty grant and is the site of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
