Notes for Joseph Edward Jernigan
They both (Joseph Edward & Emma Rosa Cooper Jernigan) received their early education in Butler County. Joseph received his B.S. degree from George Peabody College and his Master's degree from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. He was principal and teacher of many schools in South Alabama, including Grove Hill, Goshen (1930-1938), Brundidge (1938-1941), Linden, Dozier, and Enterprise.
